We travel with an eye for how people dress and how places take shape. An outfit, a building, a carefully presented object: each can offer a new way to think about proportion, colour and composition.
Dubai: presence and presentation
Dubai has shaped our relationship with the UAE and our understanding of presence. Its architecture, international culture and attention to presentation continue to influence how we think about confidence and detail.
Our experiences in the city’s hospitality and dining sharpened an appreciation for considered service and precise execution. We carry that attention to detail into how we develop and present our work.
Tokyo: proportion and individuality
September 2026
In Tokyo, we explored fashion and retail across Shibuya, Harajuku, Marunouchi and Otemachi. Shibuya PARCO and vintage retailer Desert Snow were among our stops. Just as much came from noticing how people wore and combined their clothes.
Wide trousers, boxy T-shirts, layering and distinctive footwear caught our attention. Muted colours often allowed shape, texture and proportion to carry the visual interest.
Those encounters sharpened our interest in drape, collar construction and the relationship between restraint and personal style.
Colour, silhouette and detail
One thought stayed with us:
“The color is the canvas. The design is the paint.”
Black, charcoal and natural tones give us a foundation for exploring shape, lettering and space. A small gold accent can bring a particular detail into focus. Each colour has a role within the composition.
A continuing practice
The journey continues through photography, garment research and the refinement of artwork. Tokyo is the first concept in our developing Travel Series, exploring connections between the UAE and Japan through apparel graphics and label treatments.
Every chapter begins with experience and research, giving us something meaningful to carry into the work.
